Artist's Description

Mineral Wells, Texas
Placed on National Register of Historic Places in 1982.Stories about ghosts in the hotel abound, and it is also alleged that Bonnie and Clyde may have spent a night there. It had a national reputation as a health spa where guests bathed in hot mineral water. Built in 1929, the hotel rises fourteen stories over the small town of Mineral Wells. It housed 450 guest rooms, and had two ballrooms, an in-house beauty shop, and other novelties such as a bowling alley, a gymnasium, and an outdoor swimming pool.
