big thanks to the people who’ve volunteered themselves to be photographed.
First ones-Alfonso, Patience, MaTeTee, Bill, Tom and Eugenia. They made going to a strangers house easy and fun. I think they’ll be pleased with what we’ve come up with.
Greatly appreciate David coming to be ‘reflector boy’, and making sure the subjects had the most beautiful light upon them. It really made a difference to the photos.
Day two-Pamela, Nora, Betsy and Lina were also enthusiastic, compliant and beautiful subjects-what a relief to find such fantastic models!
Jane and George generously gave their time also-George just go off the plane the day before. It was a pleasure to catch the ‘newness’ of the moment-mum is obviously very happy to have him safe and close by (considering there was a terrible war in Kenya, one of Africa’s most stable nations)
Day Three-meeting of future collaborators.
Andy and I have been at Bondi, meeting and greeting a few more people, welcoming them into the photographic world. We really are looking forward to making some beautiful portraits. The results so far have been fantastic and we hope you’ll all grace the pages of the up coming book.
It hasn’t been easy finding people we really feel have a strong family identity, so if we have asked you, please feel very honoured! We think you’re pretty special for helping us make this happen.
I love the idea that groups of people can get together, and maybe all can see their friends and selves in the pages, as well as being a fantastic memory and experience to create.
