Random thoughts while driving... by Matt Adamik

Gone into madness speak not my words but let the pictures be that which salivates around your tongue to make you think of how I once was & what I have now become…
-—————————————-
Light it up & burn it down like you mean it. There is no sympathy for you or your dumb troubles in this world when all you have left to offer is the stupid look on your face so stand back, gaze upon the fire & watch it all burn to the ground.
-——————————————
I fucked it up. It took years, but I finally did it… Laying dying on the highway of dreams… The wreckage still fully burning in the ditch… My last gasp & look up… Through the smoke it’s you, I see your face and can’t feel the pain any longer… I sigh & know it’s all going to be ok.
-——————————————-
I dodge the dark city lights, the ones you can’t see unless you’ve gotten to a certain level of sadness. This place has had it in for me since long before I arrived… the razor smiles & iced over eyes tearing my skin. I knew my time was up when I walked out the door that morning. A few blocks in a crooked finger juts from the dark light & I smile as the asphalt cracks open, drags me in & I become part of what keeps the city alive. It was your name I whispered & your face in that last thought that was the smile across my lips.
-——————————————-
I am the poetry, the big beats & the words between the lines… The grit, the filth & shattered soul… The beauty, the neverending dreamer & believer of true love… I will be so real that I will be unreal in this world that’s all made up… I will stand, then fall & get back up again just to wrap my arms around you one more time.

You’re a scandalous scam sitting in traffic with slicked back hair trying to be urban while dripping the suburban ooze all over the oil slick roads. Carelessly empty headed chasing someone elses dreams because you have none. I’ll slap you silly, smack you around some, kick you in the seat of the pants and let you just waddle off like a wind-up toy robot with all it’s awkward & uncomfortable tiny steps.
