It was possible to exit Flinders Street station in 1957 by several routes. This was one of them which lead out onto St Kilda Road footpath by going under signage for “Canns” a very important general store of the time, long since gone. The problem for the photographer in the early morning was that you were looking due East into the lately risen sun. This was taken on Kodachrome 8 ASA film on an Exacta camera

Spend most of my time with images of yesterday (or before), but enjoy use of the Pentax K5 when possible.

I think this is my favourite photo of yours. The contrast, shadows and composition is beautiful art.
It is one of mine too. Thanks

Action, emotion and drama you think you have seen it all untill you see the small details the lass in the booth, the reflections in the doors…hhmmm now you see this is something special.
Something I took so long ago, but it pleases me that people like it. Thanks

This is what photography is all about and there is so much skill and control that can be taken for granted with digital today!
I do not think digital outside the top Nikon, Canon, Sony, Pentax can equal the quality of film Thanks

These shots are truly priceless. The sun beaming through that exit/enterance is stunning.

Dear Failing memory, I am a pup, I was born in 1957! Your older shots are exquisite, I have tried to understand light and shadow and all that sort of stuff, but now I believe I have found the master! Thoroughly enjoying working through your collection, only typing cramp precludes me from making more comments :)
Thank you for your comments. They encourage me to keep going.
