On the healing power of forgiveness.
My intention with this image is to give life to the hope that humanity will face past mistakes and humbly ask for forgiveness, knowing that though we have erred, we can still be met with a loving embrace by that which we were born.
Wise and nurturing Mother Earth is depicted as a great, ancient tree. Her branches have been stripped and broken. Yet, in response to our plea for forgiveness, humanity, her child, is embraced as she cries with us. Tears combine and run down, quenching the barren ground and buds immediately appear on her branches.
Brother bird and sister squirrel are there to remind us that we are part of a family. Like squirrel we should be diligent in our preparation for the coming season and like bird, we should strive for synchronicity.
The moon is a reminder that life is never static, but abundant wtih change and growth. The moon also ushers in the dawn of a new day and with it a chance to make new choices.
