J=Jacob Marley: (combo-team -> (JM1) Honk – Harpo, (JM2) Dialogue – Chico)
G=Three Ghosts: Larry, Curley, Shemp, Zeppo
T=Tiny Tim Groucho (Never seen, background voice)
M=2 A Muses H1=Oliver, L1=Stanley, & (A1-C1) 4 sofar
Direction: Inept Actors may hold Greek theater masks of their characters, except for Groucho, unless, of course, he comes out for the Secret Word Bit.
Scene 1 Act 1 (there’s is only 1 Act, its only a 10-Minute Scrooge)
Setting: Darkened bedroom of Ebenezer Scrooge – Draped Canopy Bed, Door Bedroom, Door Closet, Hanging Chandelier, 18 Gags, 16 Props, Room Platform Hydraulic, and a Big Window.
Scrooge: (Moe Howard) Loud snoring,
Direction: light faint wo, wo, wo in background counterpoint “eerily”
Direction: Loud repeated Honking at darkened window, angry Scrooge arises with candle light to window, throws open window, big snow wind blows in
J Repeated horn honks – Head of Harpo appears spotlight (JM1)
S “Heeey, what’s the big idea waking me up in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve, Why I aou-ta “!
Direction: Repeated horn honks – Head of Harpo (JM1)
S “Listen You”! “Why I’m goin’na knock your block off right off”!
J Head of Chico appears spotlight (JM2) “Hey! Wait-a, minute-a Mistera, He No Talk!
S What-da mean? He no talk, What’s going on here”?
J Honk, Honk (JM1) – (JM2) Hey He No Talk cause he’s –a- “the ghost of you’re –a- partner –a- Jacob –a- Marley”.
S Oh, Jacob Marley I see, Jacob Marley, Hey this guy don’t look like Jacob Marley to me, get outa here
J (JM2) Hey! Yes he is –a-, and –a-, he fly all around all Christmas Eve Honking his Horn till you –a- wake –a- up, an he tell you something very important… , “He don’t a look so good out here right now, remember he’s a been dead a long time”, (JM1) Honk, Honk repeated
S Oh all right, all right, get in and let me get a look at him here in the light
Direction: (JM1&JM2) fall into bedroom, lot-a snow wind blowing in. tumble in on each other and on Scrooge (Do Harpo “Hanging Leg Routine”, Three Way!)
Place Here: “Middle of Story …”
PSS End: Ghosts of Laurel & Hardy fading away out of window say “WELL We’ve never been so insulted in all our lives, “Come on Stanley lets get out of here”. (Stanley Nods, Smiles) H1=Oliver, L1=Stanley
Direction: Lightly, faintly “Hey Abbot”! (A1) , in background “eerily” “Oh common Lou !” (C1).
