I couldn’t believe that this magnificent animal stared at me long enough to take his picture. After the shot, he turned his head and closed his eyes, never to look my way again.

Taken with a Nikon D90 and Nikkor 55-200mm lens.

Oh you did so well to capture him like this. Right place, right time.

  • You said it, Cynthia. As I approached, I saw him just looking at me and I wanted to get close enough to get a nice shot but I didn’t want to startle him at all or do anything to cause him to look away. Thank you for your comment.

Beautiful. You should be thanking him immensely for offering such a perfect pose. Well done.

  • Thanks, Joe. Funny thing was that I actually did thank him once I got the shot. I also thanked him for not eating me. : )

Majestic looking animal, well captured, congratulations on your feature

  • Thank you very much, Jim. I was so fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. If I would have arrived at that spot 15 seconds later, I would have missed it.
