My Uganda- Marabou
These huge birds, somewhat resembling seedy old men, seemed to be everywhere. One kind of grew to love them after a while.
The process involved taking a picture in 35mm, making a 6X4 print, then using this photograph as a primitive printing block, by scratching into the surface and with indirect drawing using windsor newton drawing inks, printing onto 200g Daley Rowney fine grain heavy weight paper, then hand colouring with inks and water colour.
