Although they look like rolls of toilet paper, these are spools of yarn at the Fabrica mill in California, prepared to be woven into a carpet through a complex loom and computer process. The multiple (color) yarns will disappear once the carpet is woven and the dying process begins. The different yarns take the dye differently , based on the reaction each type of yarn has with the dye, thus: multicolored carpet that can be customed dyed.
