without you, my little boy

without you
my little boy
i feel like a heart
that’s been removed
and thrown to the
many crows
that circle my thin corpse

without you
my little boy
i am a crashing ship
hitting an asteroid
in the deepest of space
where only the aliens
can mourn my
demise

without you
my little flower
i am posterized
and ugly
awful and sick
a creature set free
to destroy itself

with you
i am
everything good
smiling clowns
lions cleaning their cubs
diseases in remission
a heart in submission
to only the pleasant and clean
not the dirty and grotesque

i love you
it’s not hard to spell out
here

without you, my little boy
