This is a picture of a groyne (or known as groin in the U.S.) going out to sea at Sandsend, near Whitby, North Yorkshire, England. Originally it was in colour and not a trace of noise. However it has been adapted in Photoshop to monochrome, a very slight blue filter was then added together with some grain and a vignetting effect.
Nice take Damien. I love Whitby. I was there last year at the Whitby Folk Week, but I’ve always imagined living there. My family moved from that part of Yorkshire (not sure if it was actually Whitby) down to Londin in the 13th century and i’ve always had a strong pull for the north.. A lot of the songs i sing come from that area. Thanks for that.
Thanks very much, it really is a small world…..thanks for your comment and give me a shout if you come back to Whitby!
Hi. This is a lovely shot also a bit sad, the evidence of a receding coastline…
You have some very good pictures in your portfolio, Damien.
Hi Hilary, sorry for not replying before now. Thanks for your comments, I guess you could say it is a bit sad. Thanks for the comment on the portfolio – it’s been a bit updated since! All the best…Damien.
