Rock climbing in Manara Cliff, Israel by

My son is rappelling down at Manara cliffs Israel. A spectacular location in the northern part of Israel. Manara (Hebrew: מנרה) is a Kibbutz located in the Upper Galilee area in northern Israel, adjacent to the Lebanese border. It overlooks the hula valley

Wow… Wonderful work Eyal! That sure does look like a long way down!!

  • To the best of my memory it was about 100-130 feet down.. Not too much…

Gave me the chills to see this! Takes enormous courage to do this and you certainly captured that sense of adventure and daring in your photo. You also succeeded in conveying a sense of dizzying height as well as the smallness of man against the mountain. Amazing perspective and stunning realism.

  • Well I’m an adrenaline junkie myself, so for me going down the cliff enjoying the view and happily snapping images was a no brainer.. I must admit it got me into deep troubles at times… Thanks for the wonderful comment. :-)

I’m not sure I have the courage to take this shot, not to mention rappelling down the cliff. Instead, I would take his picture on a straight rocky terrain, and just rotate the image by 90 degrees to the left… Cowards need to find their own solutions… Amazing and brave capture, Eyal!

  • Hey you don’t need courage, just some guts knowing that it’s an exhilarating experience.. But your solution works well also, as long as the viewer doesn’t know the details… :-) With such a healthy sense of humor I bet you can overcome any challenge…

  • Vonnie you can always try first a tandem skydive…Just kidding.. thanks for the comment
