Just curious, but what camera settings do you use for tracking birds in flight?
I use Sports Mode with a center frame of focus and continuous auto focus.

Steven. I used shutter priority and I select the focus area in the viewfinder. Camera continue with auto focus and tracking.

Thanks Jesika, Just watch the birds flight for some time, many of them just go back and forth and they can be quite predictable. Just position yourself in the flight line heading towards you and start clicking..
