I care for the aged in their moment of need
Its my job as a carer, to help them you see
Assistance with tasks, we all take for granted.
Live while your young, before old age advances…
A shower, some scent and a fresh change of clothes!
I’m happy to listen to all of your woes …
A joke whilst were walking, or wheeling along.
I’ll give you a hug and sing you a song …
Your trust in my hands, as we share time together.
a day spent in bed, your under the weather …
Sometimes you cant speak, but its all in your eye’s
I’m happy to help you,I wouldnt think twice …
It’s hard when you leave and pass on through the gates.
one thing is for certain, we all have that date …
With love in your eye’s and your smile in my heart,
I’ll remember you dear, even though we must part.

Oh how I love this Poem …After I gradated high school I was a Nurses Aid and LOVED every moment and not a shamed of it at all…Then got into the Paramedic Filed…Their was two different kinds of calls that would get really get to me which was Elderly and Children….Th s Poem says it all…. You do such a EXCELLENT JOB!!!!!!! YOUR WORK IS SO AWESOME AND GREAT…..

I worked about a year in aged care (dementia and in- home care).. It is REALLY hard physical work! I am glad that you are a caring and empathetic nurse…Hats off to you !
