St Petersburg. This is where the russian kings and queens used to live.
Lucky bastards.
This was taken with the good old pocket Pentax Optio M10

Wow. Such opulence and decadance! How their conciences dealt with the reality of the starving masses is pretty amazing…Its almost like they didn’t have conciences.

  • I agree with you, but anywhere, where there is a social hierarchy its like that, i guess….Even now, just the luxury isnt on the walls, but in offshore swiss banks. :)))

Truly beautiful. You are so lucky to be able to take photos in your museums.

  • True true! But sometimes we just take photoes when noone is looking :)) Thanks for leaving a comment Mistress Didi!

Another way to look at such opulence and decadance is; how many artisens did it employ to create and how large was the staff to look after such a construction? some of the moneies would certainly have tricked down. Trickel down economics isn’t a perfect modle but then comunisim didn’t function very well either. Great image though.

  • Actually, you are right…..i guess. It did give a lot of people jobs and stuff. Plus, ANYTHING is better than communism! lol
And i mean, what else had they got to do in those times, other than walking around their gardens and mansions? :)) Thanks for the comment!

  • Thank you! :)) Never thought that I write like an australian! (hope its a good thing though!)
