I am an ex-patriot American, living and working for 5+ years on the Greek Island of Chios. I am a full time Real Estate Broker affiliated with Stegi Reat Estate of Chios. Working in Real Estate has prompted and allowed me to photograph some of the most stunning scenery in the Aegean-for whever I go to see or show a property- I usually take my time on the way back and photograph whatever I find interesting. This is a passionate passtime for me-but has also given me some of the most stunning sunset/nighttime photos. I feel that if I were a professional photographer-I would have waited hours if not a lifetime to make some of these shots!
While Real Estate is my fulltime career- my real interest lies in fine art and painting. I have had 4 art exhibitions here in Chios, and hope in the future to have one in Athens, and Crete. The fact of the matter is that no matter where one lives-making a living as an artist is very very difficult. That is why it is always best to “have a day-job”. I have, I must admit been relatively successful here in Greece-but because of economic situations, find that I cannot persue Art as a full time career…perhaps when and if I ever retire (the “if” is because I do so enjoy working in Real Estate)-I may have more extra time to pursue my painting.
