On the Wrack by

I was wandering around the tiny harbour of Croig on the North Coast of the Isle of Mull in weather that could only be described as ‘dreach’ – a Scots Gaelic word for those cloudy, rainy, gloomy days which are usually lousy for landscapes. On the other hand, it was ideal for images such as this because of the lack of bright reflections or blown highlights.

The rope was sodden and lay just as pictured, formed into a loop and intertwined with the bladderwrack. Perfect.
