thanks for you home page comment … and this image is home page material … how can you not peer into this kids mind … or into your own mind via her eyes … great composition and sweet moment.

I did not have the privilege to see a child grow up but I watch them all the time in supermarkets, on the beach, looking out the car windows. It is a hobby of mine to pull faces or wave when we make eye contact. Their reaction when they suddenly become self aware is fascinating. Then, and that is why I write about this picture, I look deep into myself to see what is left of that child in me. This picture to me, isn’t sadness, it is wisdom.

This image just about melts my heart, I absolutely love it.
