1st ARPex - Hurray!! by Evie3

Posted on February 03, 2009

Just wanted to send massive respect to Carson and Nexus for all the hard work on getting the exhibition together. I feel really priviliged and excited to be a part of such an endeavour and more than a bit chuffed to see my work alongside all you great artists! It’s so inspiring to see something created from nothing – the power of our ideas – and I think everyone can appreciate the logistical nightmare it must have involved.

So thank you and here’s hoping it will grow from strength to strength :)

Thank you – it feels great to be appreciated. And thank you to all of the other participants who contributed to our project.

I’m really glad that we did this, and I’m also really glad that it’s over, except for a few minor tweaks here and there!

I learned a lot in the process, and can absolutely promise you all that when 2ndARPEx goes on line on the 1st of January 2010, it will be a lot easier and more efficient for everyone involved.

The 1stARPEx is currently number 2 at the top of page 1 at google for search terms “Remodernist Painters” (second only to the RPG itself), it’s number 6 on page 1 for search terms “Remodernist Exhibition”, on the bottom of page 3 for search term “Remodernist”, and it’s number 5 on page 6 for search term “Remodernism”. This is not quite as good as I had hoped, but the ‘entry’ page that I wrote was optimized for “Remodernist Painters”, and I must say that in that respect it worked perfectly.

Anyone who wants to link to the 1stARPEx should please use this URL: http://www.theoceanseries.com/1stARPExentry.html

Also, I very strongly urge the 32 artists who are included in the expo to send me the title and URL of one link to your personal web site, or any other site where your artwork can be seen, and I will put the link on the page with your ‘Statement of Intent’ These links will significantly improve the position of the 1st ARPEx in the search engines.

Bravo indeed…… it looks great and yes i have to agree…….the power of ideas and hard work…..another creation is born. I also think if people made a point to BLOG about the 1stARPEx since google likes blogs and hopefully will increase traffic to the site for all.

Thanks again to all that were involved and congratulations for staying the distance it is much appreciated for all of us i know our time is precious and an online exhibition cannot happen without some serious time committment and knowledge.

Thank you for the kind words, Wendy,
Actually, were having a lot of trouble with one of the 3 servers that the 1stARPEx depends upon to exist: the one at fM. Ever since Trevor Hunt “upgraded” it a few days ago, it’s been off line about 75% of the time – you just got lucky.

But I agree – when all 3 servers are on line, it does work perfectly. (I’ll try not to dislocate my shoulder slapping myself on the back.)

Trevor’s a good guy – I’ve known him for about 6 years – and he’s acutely aware of the problem and trying very hard to fix it. We’ll just have to be patient.

This project has been plagued with more than its fair share of tech problems from the very first. I just hope, in the long run, that it will have been worthwhile. Time will tell.

I’m happy to report that the problem with the servers has now been fixed.

Also, in response to requests from some of the 32 artists featured in the 1stARPEx, you may now have more than one link on your “Statement of Intent” page if you so desire.

By the way, the following artists still have not sent me any link at all, and It would make me happy if you would do so a.s.a.p.

    1. Avalyn Doyle
    2. Agnieszka Grecka
    3. Leni Kae
    4. Chuck Ott

If you just want to link to your page at redbubble, that works. Or you can link to your personal web site, or any other place where your artwork can be seen on line. All I need is a title and a URL. Just send the info to me via bubblemail, please.

Again, anyone wanting to link to the entry page of the 1stARPEx (it’s the next best thing to being in the expo itself) should send me a title and URL, also, if you wish, a brief description. As soon as I get enough of these, I’ll put a target on the entry page leading to a separate links page.

The links page is now on line.

Wow! My offer to exchange links with the 1stARPEx certainly has resulted in a spontaneous burst of apathy.
I wonder if that’s because folks (including members of the RPG) don’t want to be associated with Remodernism, don’t understand the importance of link popularity in promoting themselves, or are just too lazy to bother about it.
I suppose this will remain, for me, a mystery (like most of the behavior of the human species).
