When I booked that Scenic Flight at Swakopmund, Namibia, I couln’t possibly imagine that I would take one of my dearest pictures ever. To begin with, the flight is absolutely breathtaking, the scenery changes from an ocean of waves to an ocean of sand dunes, from the blue palette to the ochre palette. The unforgettable fact was the wind. Oh, yes, the little Cessna danced in the air so my hand was not stable at all, well, neither was my stomach. But I did it, yes, I did it. Thanks to my F80 and a FUJI 400 ISO film (slides). The area is the Kuiseb Delta, very near the port of Walvis Bay on the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 30 km south of Swakopmund, Namibia. Kuiseb is an underground river and reaches the sea when the rare heavy rains occur. Guess what the white dots are… More about Kuiseb here

Excellent capture Euphemia, we were in Namibia in 2007, went to Swakopmund but did not know about this wonder, I assume the white dots are birds.
Yes Wayne, they are birds. It doesn’t look like this every year, I was extremely lucky to be there after a very rainy season :-)

fantastic!
Something so abstractual about your photo… like tree growing with bare branches, and the blue represents the sky… brilliant shot.
thanks :-)
