This is a great artwork. Love the idea, the title and working out. Beautiful light . The detail of the shoes makes it ! Well done.

  • Etienne RUGGER... replied

That’s right for the shoes ! Walkers passing between shoes and girl are going through her intimacy.
    Thanks Anna !

Hi Etienne. I always like seeing your new stuff. I can tell this is something special, but I’m still a bit confused. In trying to read the picture, or put together a story to explain it, I ask and can’t answer: who is the girl, how old is she? is she sad (she looks maybe sad)? and why are the shoes over there? does she care? why is everything else moving and not her? Some of those questions probably are good left unanswered, but I’m just missing too much context. And what does “Some belong to ground” mean?
    Thanks.

that’s up to you to imagine what you want about this one Bruce !

powerful, sad, intimate, they are just some of the words that could be used to describe this. As always your mastery with light is clearly evident.

Thanks, Etienne. Your work is quite imaginative. Some approaches are meant to convey a story from the mind of the photographer to the mind of the viewer, such as exposes of poverty and hunger and such. Others are laying out images in conjunction and contrast, to see what happens. There are more. This one does look sort of like “poetic photojournalism.” Emotional distance and loneliness among the crowd. But, that’s just me.
    Thanks for your good work.
