Interesting perspective, and nice composition! What are the dark lines near top right?

(Unfortunately the Chinese characters are too washed out for me to try and look them up.)

  • The first two characters are just the Chinese phonetic pronunciation of “Keefer” (qi hua in Mandarin or ki fa in Cantonese.) The last two characters are luguan which means rooming house or inn. And the black lines on the right are cross bars on hydro poles. Thanks for the favorite. I’m glad you like it.

OK… ‘Hydro pole’ – that sent me searching, and I found it’s a Canadian term for a Utility pole … I remember those from the 1950s, early 60s, maybe – they’d be pretty hard to find here nowadays. ;) I always see arguments that it’s cheaper to put the lines on poles than to bury them – which I can imagine in rocky ground, but that’s not everywhere. We’ve been burying the lines for decades and I believe that is actually cheaper, as there is much less maintenance needed (and it’s safer, too). Just to explain why I had no idea what those things up there were. ;)
