1950 Nash Airflyte Ambassador Super; the actual license plate on this car does begin with DOA.
From Wikipedia: The aerodynamic 1949 Nash “Airflyte” was the first car of an advanced design introduced by the company after the war. Its aerodynamic body shape was developed in a wind tunnel. Nils Wahlberg’s theories on reducing an automobile body’s drag coefficient resulted in a smooth shape and enclosed front fenders. Wide and low, the automobile featured more interior room than its 1948 predecessor.
Hi Bill, I don’t think it is—it looks like it’s hardly been kept up. All the owner seems to have done is attach the skull to the front. :) The body’s all rusty, as pictured. I didn’t get a chance to talk to the owner, just saw him drive it (slowly!) up to the car show. He was quickly surrounded by people and absorbed in conversation.
whooooooooooooowwwwwwwhhhhhhheeeeeeeee!!! What a snap!!!! Colleen!! I LOVE it!!!! Not that there’s any comparison, but my parents had an old Nash Rambler … I practically grew up in the thing from all their road trips!!!! This baby is GORGEOUS!!!! Fantastic, fantastic pov!!!!! WOWZER!!!
