Basic Drawing Online Workshop

I am excited to announce that on the September 18th I will be starting teaching my first online drawing workshop! It is a five-session workshop with weekly classes, presented on blog format, designed for beginners and intermediate artists. That will not be a simple “buy my classes and learn on your own” package, it is an interactive workshop where you can exchange information and insights with your fellow virtual classmates, and get personalized orientation by me, by email or Skype. So, basically, you will have: access to the class materials (text, images, videos), at any time, for as long as you need; access to a Yahoo list created specially for the workshops, where you can interact with me and the other students, and upload images of your progress for evaluation; personal guidance by me…

Wanna see me painting live?

This Thursday, August 1st, from 12:00pm PT, you are invited to watch my working process on the very first portrait of my project. “Changing Woman”. I will be painting, tweeting, and posting pictures to Instagram for all the 24 hours that the event lasts.

Simultaneously, consider donating $2 dollars (the price of a regular cup of coffee at Starbucks) to contribute to the current Changing Woman fundraising campaign. If I get 1,500 people to donate me a “cup of coffee”, I would easily surpass my goal of $2,500 USD! How cool that would be?

And this is why I am calling this event Coffee for Art. It would be like buying me a cup of coffee. Except that that money will go into keeping my project going for the next months, so I can make enough art to lift the spirits of a lot of wome…

Changing Woman: Art for Empowerment

To the ones that do not regularly follow me on my Facebook fanpage or Twitter, I am pleased to introduce you to my very first art project focused on promoting human rights. The project is called “Changing Woman” and it was designed to raise awareness about woman’s issues and rights, as well as to promote women’s empowerment through examples from real life.

The project’s goal is to create twenty-one art portraits of women with stories to tell about how being a woman in the current model of society has impacted their lives. Stories of trauma, abuse, neglect, struggle, and how they fought and thrived, being transformed by the hands of the artist in models of support and encouragement for other women under similar circumstances.

The project has been recently launched …

Cleaning off the spider webs.

i don’t even remember when it was the last time i uploaded an artwork on to RB. however, i kept receiving a whole lot of support in the form of messages and purchases. thank you to all who bought my art and that took the time to write me words of kindness and praise.

of course i did not stop making art… it was quite the opposite: 2011 has been a very very prolific year. after my divorce, in June, i moved North with my baby daughter to set residence in the wonderful state of Washington, more precisely in Seattle, a city that seems to be made for me in almost every aspect. transitions are never easy, mainly when you leave a life of security and comfort as mine used to be to follow your truth, alone and with a four year old child to look after. my finances are not the same, but i…

Studio cleaning: 50% off all art!

Yes, yes, during all May all my original art is 50% off their regular prices. No kidding. Please visit my store to see the pieces that are still available. And they are going fast.

I have been a little away from RedBubble lately due to many sudden changes in life, that ended up affecting my art at some extent. Since I will be moving town very very soon, I decided to do a studio cleaning. It will be good to have a fresh start also artistically, so I want the pieces to go with the past that turns its back to me slowly. I am a lover of changes, challenges and new beginnings and I have a huge one before me right now. Let’s make the best of it. :)

Thanks to all that keep supporting me with their words and dollars, here on RB and in other places. I am very grateful.

Wanna win a piece of original artwork?

Last year, as a way to show my appreciation to my followers and friends, I created the Solstice Giveaways, in which twice a year, on Summer and Winter, I will be giving away an original piece, print, or other item. Although the first one required only an email, I thought that it would be cool to begin asking for a symbolic donation to each participant, so together we could help an institution or person in need. This month I will be giving away an original piece of artwork, at your choice:

I am half-sick of shadows

To participate, you just have to purchase one or more e-tickets. Each e-ticket has the symbolic cost of $3.00 USD. The more tickets you purchase, the better are your chances to win. Names will be drawn on June 22nd. Out of the tickets money (after Paypal fees), I…

Join me at the Juried Invitational Exhibition…

I am very excited to have been selected out of 25,000 works of art to display my work in SoJie 2. SoJie 2 takes its name from the Solo Exhibition group’s Juried Invitational Exhibition. This month is only the 2nd one, ever, and 58 other artists, besides myself, are represented.

Non members ARE welcome to view all of the work nominated. So I hope that you will click the show banner, above, and follow the link to view my fellow exhibitors. The works are shown “gallery size” and are beautiful, seen together.

If you do not belong to the group, Solo Exhibition, unfortunately you cannot participate with comments. But you CAN join in by commenting in my journal.

Workshop invitation

I have an invitation for all of you who enjoy astrology and art making. From November 2nd through 12th I’ll be running an online workshop called Creative Astrology. This workshop was designed to help you understand the astrological language in an intuitive way, taking your own birth chart as a reference, and learning how to recognize the astrological symbolism inside yourself and in the world around you. This workshop is not intended to be a complete course on astrology, which would demand many months of apprenticeship and a different learning approach, but to give you a glimpse of how it is based upon and how you can see it in action in your life. As a complement you’ll learn how to build a mandala journal and connect the mandala imagery to your chart and personal experience.…
