She is getting older, and with age she feels that she is no longer beautiful, desirable. It has been a long, uphill struggle to get to this point in her life. She has become tired and weary. With the aches and pains of her body, the graying of hair and the hard earned wrinkels on her face and hands, she is reminded that life is short and the clock is ticking. She drags behind her the burden of time as she must face the reality of aging and eventually the end of her journey.
When it’s time to go home
will I be ready
will the deeds of my life
all be known
Will I be happy or
perhaps sad
will I be grateful
for the life that I had
Will Mother and Daddy
be waiting for me
will lost friends be there too
for me to see
Will there be birdsongs
and pets from the past
oak trees and summer soft breezes
blowing the grass
Will there be sunshine
will it be bright
will there be music
will there be light
Will I have regrets
for things left undone
unfinished business
I hope to have none.
Will I come back
and do it again
when it’s time to go home
I hope I can

Excellent! Both picture and poem. You really tapped into the reality. And tho’ it reminded me of Dali, I think maybe you are closer to our shared history.
