My interpretation of John Singer Sargents painting, a portrait of Mrs Hugh Hammersley, the original of which is life size – about 6’ – I saw it in the American Impressionists Exhibition at the Brisbane Art Gallery last year and loved it.

I was reading an art magazine the other day and they were saying having a go at copying some of the Masters (and they copied) helps to get you to your own style of painting eventually. You learn bits and pieces that you can use.
Hi Gloria, yeah I think I learn a lots from copying old masters. My own style hasn’t evolved yet I don’t think, but my basic skill level is improving. Thnx for your comment :)
Excellent go at the original work. Wonderful detail. ☺
