After Delacroix… well sort of. It was a very small picture on a Cd cover from my collection of classical music – I liked the strong tones and I love the piano music of Chopin – so I thought I’d give it a go, even though I couldn’t see a lot of detail in the original painting because of the size. I think it might have been better in oil than pastel, perhaps I will try that next. I chose the black paper because I thought the gold tones over the black suited the nineteenth century scene.
I really like this – Interesting composition and great colors!

Chopin is one of my favorites……you have done such a beautiful job capturing the mood of a concert here….from the ball gowns to the chandeliers! just wonderful :o)
This is really lovely. I had a good friend (now deceased) who would play Chopin pieces on his piano for me whenever I visited him and his family. A few years ago I saw Chopin’s grave in Paris … it’s covered in floral tributes from worldwide admirers. Like you, Chopin is one of my favourite composers.
