A Sad Passing
My dad Richard Wilson passed away this afternoon. I shared some pictures of him on the bubble when he was first diagnosed with dementia about 18 months ago. It is a terrible, terrible disease. He died peacefully this afternoon at the nursing home in Coffs Harbour. I got there an hour too late. I had last seen him last Friday when I took my mum up for their wedding anniversary. I prayed with him…
Feature - Beneath the Red Sea
A big thank you to the hosts of #1 Artist of Redbubble for selecting my piece “Beneath the Red Sea” as a feature this week. It was an experimental work for me which really pushed my boundaries, so I am thrilled to have it recognised…thank you! (I am sorry my computer is totally refusing to copy and paste anything, so I can’t reproduce the painting here…does anyone know how to fix that???) :)))
Feature- To the Barrier
A big thank you to the Working Horse group for their selection of my pastel work “To the Barrier” as a Feature this week. This painting tries to depict the emotion of a racehorse who baulks at the barrier and has to be led up by a strapper, as so many of them do. It is very encouraging to be recognised in this way and I am very pleased….thanks again!
Sorry....
I just want to say sorry to all my bubble friends whose work I have missed so much of lately. I have had hardly any time on the computer since we started building our house. It is such hard physical work and my health is not good, so I just about collapse every night when we come down off the mountain and have no energy to do anything else.
We have been digging and filling with stones 54 m…
Heart Sick
Woke up midnight last Tuesday night feeling clammy and sick with an awful pain in my chest. Husband Dennis found me collpased on the floor in the bathroom a few minutes later. Couldn’t move…couldn’t breathe properly…horrible pain in chest….passed out…carted off in ambulance.
Hospital kept me hooked up to a cardiac monitor for a couple of days and watched me through a one way glass wi…
Feature "NO Shooting"
Thanks you very much to the hosts of the Landscape Painting Group for featuring my pastel painting “No Shooting” this week – I am very happy you liked it! I really enjoyed doing that particular work as it is a scene just down the road from where I lived until this year. I am also benefitting greatly from the tuition in the pastel class I am attending in Nambucca Heads with David Southgate. Than…
Feature- "Photo Finish"
Thank you so much to Shalayne, host of Paintings from Beginners, for choosing my oil painting “Photo Finish” in the group’s features this week. It is very encouraging and I am very happy!
New Group - Contemporary Pastel Painters
Alice McMahon White and Valerie Simms have started a new group called Contemporary Pastel Painters (sorry tried to do a link but hopeless at links, only got the little red cross in the box) What a great opportunity for those of us who work in pastel to share and grow…I have been hoping someone (else!) would start a pastel group for ages. So to all my bubble friends who work in pastel or are i…
First Feature for 2009 - Paintings from Beginners
Thank you so much to the hosts of Paintings from Beginners for choosing my oil work “Rainy Day Traffic” for inclusion in the current Featured paintings. It is a painting that I feel achieved what I set out to do (more or less!) and so I am happy to see it recognised. Thanks heaps for the encouragement…much appreciated.
