Without the title, I would have concluded it had a garden feel to it. With white daisy (eggs) and little stones (beans). Wondering if you are working on more work like this. I think it turned out very well, with good coloration, movement, and contrasting textural qualities. My eyes are nourished. Take care, Peace-
Estelle O'Brien replied
Robert, I really appreciate your stopping by to look and your thoughtful comments. I learn so much from your work and I am pleased that this painting of mine has other meanings. I was really surprised (being usually in full control of all I do!) at how much it took on its own life and told me where to go with it, rather than succumbing to my planning. It taught me, rather than I painted it. Your comment is very encouraging to me. I had not thought to do another abstract straight away, as I found it wanted all of my attention and I am attempting a serious portrait next, but after that….or as well as….? maybe. Thank you and Shalom, Robert.
Ulrikeart
this is wonderful work, beautiful colors, warm and inviting. Really good.
Estelle O'Brien replied
Thank you Ulrikeart for your kind comments. I appreciate them.
Robert Dye
It was nice to read your response to your work, (and the descriptions about it), and I just wanted to add another note. One abstract painter of the 60’s (not sure who) said something along the lines of, “the artist does 10 percent of the initial work, then the painting actually speaks to complete the remaining 90 percent.” So have encouragement to just let the work “paint itself”. Take care, Peace-
cheetaah
looks yummy. ...well first I thought it’s awalkway in a grden, and then reading the title I can see the eggs. this is really amazing work.
Estelle O'Brien replied
Thanks Hasmig…I am glad you like it.
Marilyn Harris
Such an interesting abstract – Love the title! The colours work so well together!!
Estelle O'Brien replied
Hello Blossom…thanks for the encouraging comment. I’ve just been over to your bubble – you have some very nice abstract work there yourself!
Marilyn Harris
Thanks Estelle for dropping by!! Much appreciated!!
faithart
Whimsical, nice work, Estelle. I loved the title (which made me hungry) and the painting has great vitality. I’m not sure you have to be nuts to paint abstracts, but it probably helps.
Estelle O'Brien replied
hehe thanks Faith…I qualify then!
Ilunia Felczer
interesting abstract Estelle…colors are beautiful and I also thought it looked like a garden until I read the title…when I think about my stomach, yummy pleasant experience…
Estelle O'Brien replied
Thanks for looking Ilunia. Being my first absract, I have been really interested to see how people would view it. A couple of people have said it looked like a garden to them…gardens never even entered my mind while I was painting it. If anything, I thought it looked like little space ships floating through atmospheres!!!...so I guess art is very subjective. Thanks for your support.
JennyDean
straight to my favourties! love it. I’m trying to learn to paint and i find abstract really hard to do.
bigrock88
Being a great lover of the Outback her people and their art work I highly commend you on your painting. The detail colours, textures and composition are so pleasing to the eye.
Do me a big favour Estelle and change the title, it deserves so much more, I would call it something like “The Colours of Outback Dreamtime” or “Dreamtime Wild Garden of Outback Australia”
Cheers,
Rock
Best wishes..
Estelle O'Brien replied
Thanks so much for your comments Rock…I appreciate your advice- and have even taken it!
Colin Cartwright
Has a mosaic and ethnic quality. not sure about the fried eggs – cooked on a rock – maybe the heat of the outback !
Abstracts seem to take on a spirit of their own!
Some interesting and imaginative titles, suggested by bigrock.
Estelle O'Brien replied
Thank so much for your comment Colin. I’ve taken Rock’s advice and changed the title…what a journey we are on, eh?
ginnymac
wow Estelle where have I been [okay asleep] I missed this! love the eggs ! and the beans ! aren’t members here wonderful, commenting so positively. you obviously are “drawn” to abstract!
Have you looked at Irene Amos yet?
Estelle O'Brien replied
Thanks for looking at this one Gini, I value your comments very much. Yes the others have been so positive and kind…I thought abstract was too hard , but I’ve had so much positive feedback that now I am keen to do another! I’ll look at Irene now.
Vasile Stan
Well Estelle, this abstract is wonderfully beautiful with its bright vivid and warm colors. The rest is for anybody to see what they think they see, so I will not even attempt. I think you should continue on this path to freedom with more of the kind.
For me, doing abstract is a much liberating exercise, where my main focus is to love the feel of it and its assemblage of colors. Although I use digital, I experience something similar to what we had, I don’t know where it will all lead, if anywhere…
Estelle O'Brien replied
Thanks iCandor for your lovely comment. I think this will be the first of many for me- I didn’t like this much when I finished it but when I hung it on the wall it sudenly came to life and I love it now. As you say, a liberating experience that I am more confident now to repeat.
FayeDoherty
Great for your first abstract Estelle. You never know quite where they are going and are great fun to do. I find Abstract painting very relaxing so enjoy the experience.
Elenne Boothe

Thank you, my dear sister. You have lots of talent of your own!

I can feel the spirit moving through this work. What isolation can do – excellent surrender to the Creator Spirits. I too live very isolated and even though been working as an artist for 25 years, I still have to give-it-up to whatever moves me in the moment.
I will watch out for more!
Estelle O'Brien replied
Thank you avalyn for your kind comments. I have just had a look at you work and see you are a very talented artist. Being in touch with the great Creation….looking at the wonders of nature instead of the concerte jungles man builds certainly alters our perception and enlarges the soul. Peace be unto you.
Metamorphosis
i love the colours Estelle- very beautiful and the influence of the Aboriginal culture is great! :)
Estelle O'Brien replied

RosaCobos
I may be crazy but I can see three beautiful “fried eggs” in the picture…
yes… like beautiful flowwers…!!! Is that so.
Not that I need realism in the picture.
It is Life… a turmoil od feelings… textures… associatio of different organic objects and colours. i know mostly by films… that the earth in your country is reddish… so the grains dance around … in rows of liberty that is not chaotic at all. It is very interesting how the greens and reds…. relate each other as they do in the countryside. What it has called my attention is the liquid use of the intense blue… more oily than liquid…breaking the harmonious palette… and being an spot of complementary colours. it is really beautiful.
This picture is an explosion of your “hunger for artistic freedom”... and it is really personal and animic. The use of aborigins tendencies honour the place where you belong… and the people that have apported a wonderful culutre to our own.
Rosa
Estelle O'Brien replied
Rosa thank you so much for your thought detailed comment -I appreciate your words very much. You can indeed see fried eggs in the painting (some people saw them as daisies). But I originially started the painting after my attention was caught by the swirling colours of what was left on a plate of eggs and baked beans! The yellow and oranges swirling together were the original catalyst and the rest developed from there! Good eye you have!
Nira Dabush
Hello again Estelle… what a BEAUTIFUL Piece of art… indeed it has a feel of dreams… and to me it reminds in a way underwater landscape : – )... The colours are so warm…

Congratulations again. Estelle
Rosa (now if you want .. in another ocassion to link this page from the one where you have written the journal… you go upt there where all the wwwhttp…. etc.. is written, and just copy all of it, from one coerner to the other.
Afterwards.. you return to where you are editing your journal..
say for example you are telling something like..
“I thnaks a lot such group..well then…..you write…Fine Arts without leaving anyspace you paste the web address you had previously copied. Then if you go to “see a public iew of such and such”.. it will appear the name of the group in blue.. and is there for us. Of course the page we are talkaing about is the home page of the group where you pic has been featured with others…
If you do not undersatand iit just ell me… I was very slow learning it… too.
Linking a photo is a litle bit more complicated but I can tell you in another ocassion if you wish.
Have a hug.
Rosa
RosaCobos
Well we have a problem here…what I had writen has been linked to a noone page… ..
I repeat.. you must use… the name of the group address without any space
RosaCobos
Again.. I submitt…the using of double points and double colons link th words..
I say.. doublecolonsnamedoublecolonsdoublepointsaddress….
doublecolons=”
double points=:
address=what you have copied of the home page group
name=the name of the group..
I am really blunt… this is like a blind conducting another quasi-blind.. ha. ha.
Sorry…
Rosa
Estelle O'Brien replied
