Nanangroe Road, Childowa, NSW. I did this from a photograph I took last year during the drought where I lived then. Finished in a class with David Southgate, who was very helpful in teaching me about sky colour.

Thanks joak…I like it better than the photy too. I’m glad to be out of that drought country though! We’ve had 1500mm rain (60 inches) in the six months we’ve been here up north (we only had 11 inches the whole last year we were at Childowla- the place in the painting).

Realy beautiful Estelle! The composition is perfect with that road leading the eye around to the hills in the background, and the colours are wonderful. Great subject too. Have you joined the ‘Australia! You’re standing in it’ group???

A fine work, Estelle. Nicely composed, with many diagonals in the painting. The hint of violet in the sky, is a great finishing touch.
