I was on my way home to Mountain Home, Idaho from Boise, Idaho, and decided to take the back road, I exited onto Blacks Creek Road and about a mile on Blacks Creek Road, I saw an antelope had just given birth, then there came another one!I was able to get close after waiting a very long time. The Mother went up the hill after the little ones had suckled and played a little. She stayed in sight, and she looked back at me, as if to say, ok, come take the pictures! I went slowly and I got down low, and the Mother laid down! That’s when I knew she was trusting me.The babies seemed tuckered after feeding and romping. I took individual shots of the babies, and some of the two of them lying side by side. This shot is a close up of the first born. Taken May 21, 2010.All images are the copyright of the artist –

:-))))))))))))))))))))))))), know the feeling, Charlene; I had twins take their first steps in life to me… the mom had moved over a small ridge when I approached the fawn I had just seen born; and then I realized there were twins just like you. WHAT an experience, eh? AMR (Google or search here for “ruttle antelope”)
It was so awesome, when she moved away up the hill, she looked back and settled in to watch, it was as if she was letting me come take her babies first pictures. Thank you for your comment.

Wow, I thought this was Ann’s pic from last year. You are so lucky!!!
Nope, I was honored to see the second one born. The mother antelope was so beautiful, I felt she left just to give me the opportunity for the close up. She was not threatened by me. Other cars that came by seem to unnerve her… it really was a wonderful experience. Thanks for the comment.
