Profile
What is it about photography that interests me? In a word: beauty. I want to capture the beauty of the world we live in. That’s not to say that the subject needs to be beautiful or attractive. In fact sometimes I find it much more interesting when it isn’t. Boring and repulsive things are some of my favorite subjects. For it is you (the photographer) that makes them something of interest, that the eye finds pleasure in viewing. When you do that then you know you have done your job as a photographer. The secret to good photographs is light. Why do you think people love to take pictures of sunsets? Because people see sunrise and sunset as the time of day with the most interesting light. As famous Australian photographer Olive Cotton said, “Photography is painting with light”. So if you can make the light work for you, then you know to make the photograph work.
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Photography is about showing the world what is beautiful to you, in such a way that it is beautiful to the viewer as well.

In Search of Shelter
This was the end of the road, but my dreams continued uncaring of the silent engine… As I wandered through darkness, faces swum in and out of my vision. The only face that I could keep in foc…
Tea?
“Come in and have some tea.” Tea? I thought, my dad never drinks tea and at a time like this? Yet I let this remark past without question.
A Picture of Words
I showed you my world, and illustrated each detail with colours bright and bold. I talked about the shades of vibrant yellow, the setting sun cast upon the green leaves. And how the reflection of the …
