I wonder what you did to make him sit/stand up? Maybe it was to digest a large object!

  • Dangling a tasty morsel in front of its mouth will work every time!
Thank you for all your kind comments.

Just WOW! You must be thrilled with this one. I hope he becomes someone’s cowboy boots or a handbag before he eats someone! I can’t image living around prehistoric monsters. The things that nightmares are made of! Where I live we only have Great White Sharks. (Fortunately, they don’t walk on land!) Thanks for sharing that excellent (and scary) image. Good for you!
    Cordially, Ellen (waddleudo)

  • Thanks Ellen! You’re right in the sense that a lot more people a killed by crocodiles than sharks in Australia (though we have Great Whites, too), but on dry land you’re pretty safe – just don’t go too close to the water’s edge in crocodile country, and definitely no swimming (this picture was taken from a very solid boat)! As to the cowboy boots or handbag, well, hopefully not – crocodiles are protected species in Australia…

Great shot. Well captured at just the right moment. The Adelaide River cruises are fascinating. I went many years ago and scanned one of my old photos for use in a RedBubble calendar.
