Sydney Opera illuminated in colour as part of LUMINOUS, “a festival of music, ideas, light and performance,” curated by Brian Eno and part of Vivid Sydney 2009, a new winter festival in the capital city of New South Wales, Australia. The Sydney Opera House is a performing arts complex comprising multiple venues. Its iconic design, conceived by Danish architect Jørn Utzon in 1957, has resulted in it being awarded UNESCO World Heritage status. The project of its construction commenced in 1958. It was finally completed in 1973, ten years later than planned.
Many people photographed the Opera House when it was lit up like this, but here’s a capture I couldn’t resist uploading.
