When I first started with watercolor, I tried to be all tight and painterly like I had in my ink, pencil, pen and oil paintings. I was inspired to try and paint snow, and this was one of my first attempts that was, at the time, a new medium to me.
Born in Tokyo Japan on an Air Force base, I moved around and visited many countries, and many cultures. I started drawing and writing stories for my pictures when I was two. Art and Writing remained my steadfast loves, and I went to University of Texas at Austin to get my BFA and teaching certificate. While at university, I was privileged to study under a fantastic water colorist and began my love of the medium.
