U2 play at Croke Park in Dublin, to the town where they were once just another local band, in Summer 2009. Great show, and what an incredible stage setup!

Taken on a Canon Eos 500 – fairly brief exposure, there was plenty of light to had…

I was delighted when this was featured in “A Night Somewhere…” on 27th March 2010.

Congratulations! Your photo has been featured in “A Night somewhere…..”

This photo was chosen because it was of a very high quality and it captured exactly the sort of work we are looking for in this group.

Please keep up the great work and we hope you continue to add more of your excellent photographs to this group.

  • cheers graeme, that’s made my day but I can’t take all the credit here… I’d never seen lighting at a concert like that before!

  • perhaps Bono would say “Magnificent”?? but then Bono was never known for his modesty… what a show, mind!

Actually, I went to Ireland with a friend who went to the 4 Dublin concerts, one in London, one in Glasgow and one in Sheffield and he said it was brilliant. I didn’t go to any of the concerts, but from what I have seen since, it must have been amazing. Cheers, Graham.

  • he mustn’t have been short of cash, some of the ticket prices were shocking… and yet they did release pockets of tickets at varying prices in the weeks and days running up to the concert… this fine seat cost me 33 euros and that was just two days prior, I couldn’t believe my luck. The layout of the stage was such that despite the vastness of everything, it felt like they were in the palm of your hand, and far more intimate that you might imagine – quite an achievement!

He bought all the tickets on the internet from Australia, within about 10 minutes of them going on sale. He was looking at your photo this morning to see if he could see himself. He was in the GA section and him and 3 of his friends, they queued up from about 6am every morning to get a great spot when they opened the doors. All up we had 6 weeks over in the UK but we only went cause he wanted to go to the U2 concerts. Cheers mate.

wonderful atmospheric shot – great stuff

  • thank you sarah – it was a great night, never seen lighting like that at a concert, and I was still getting used to the new camera – so was really pleased it turned out as it did!
