Crown of Thorns by Andrew Bret Wallis

Crown of Thorns by

This conceptual photographic image is part of a series I have been working on depicting religious iconography. This image depicts the crown of thorns worn by Jesus on the cross. The crown here is formed from repeat photographic images of man-made metal cages symbolising the persecution of Christ by humankind. The concentric circular theme that runs through this series echoes the eternal struggle of birth and death.
