On Death Row: Moreton Bay Figs Face the Axe by

In July 2004 the City of Sydney and the NSW State Government cut down many of the old Moreton Bay Figs that made the Domain and Botanic Gardens beautiful places to be. The justification at the time was that there was a danger of branches falling on people’s heads, though it was later revealed that the tree removal eased the process of hiring out the venues for major events.

    Have you been back to the trees lately .. have they regrown or given up and died ?
