Sydney based freelance photographer Erin Casey, with a background in theatre and a degree in Performance, experiments with light, movement and motion to produce images that are strong and challenging.
Starting out directing a local theatre group, Erin enrolled herself in the UWS Nepean course of Theatre Making. Trialing a photography unit changed the course of her degree towards the design and media school and a love for the camera.
Focusing on the traditional black and white photographic processing, Erin soon built her own darkroom and continued her work in her own time. Erin worked as a stills photographer for “Nexus2 Productions” for a number of short films.
Her prints were noticed by Michael Chugg Management which led to a publicity shoot for Sydney DJ ‘Alex Taylor’, and upcoming band “Celebrity Drug Disasters”, and featured in the new talent section of “Capture” Magazine.
Erin exhibited at the 2004 UWS Graduation showcase “Capture”,PYT ‘Youth Program Exhibition” 2006 Campbelltown Art Centre “Annual Friends Exhibition”, The 2007 Linden Gallery postcard Art Exhibition and the “Newtown Mission Art Exhibition” 2008
