Spurs championship shirt jabs at LeBron’s ‘Big 3’ prophesy
People don’t forget.
Last night the Spurs once again demolished the overmatched Heat in Game 5, capturing their fifth NBA title in 16 seasons and fourth since 2003 — when Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker joined Tim Duncan to become a humble championship trio.
SPURS TAKE BACK WHAT’S THEIRS
Spurs owner Peter Holt wanted one for the thumb. Timmy, Tony, Manu and Pop needed one for redemption. They got it. Did they ever.
The title is cause for celebration in San Antonio and also means it’s time for fans to buy championship swag. But why settle for a generic “NBA Champions” t-shirt when you can get one that rips the opponent, even if he’s a really easy target — LeBron James.
The reference, in case you forgot (doubtful) to the “Big 3” introduction when James said that he, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and nine other dudes would win “not one, not two, not three … not seven” titles. James set the bar for erroneously setting bars, but at least it’s good t-shirt fodder.
