There is an entire flora and fauna of open-mouthed flowers in my mind.
I like exploring and creating worlds of surreal sensuality and soft dreaming. I find drawing and creating to be an incredibly physical, sensual and emotively visceral experience: for me, it involves touch with an understanding of movement, feeling and sensuality through light, and as a result having light form as an entity, creating solid shapes that tell intimate stories and personal mythologies.
Through my art, (which is a mixture of media: pastel, acrylic, colored pencil, graphite and more recently ink & coffee, on various types of paper and handmade paper) I set out to capture the rich metamorphosis of my stories and mythologies that are born from my personal flora and fauna of open-mouthed flowers.
Here you will find a mixture of finished pieces and simple drawings.
~ in my art blog I share and explore the mediums I enjoy using in my sketches, ongoing “flower-women” series and some poetry: open-mouthed flowers
Thank you so much for taking a look :)
