in the silence

It’s interesting how I sometimes feel like my thoughts have a life of their own….they sort of keep me “entertained” when everything is just so dull sometimes. They’re my escape.

in the silence belongs to the following groups:

All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, Core [C.O.R.E], Freedom In Words & Art, Freedom to Shine, Lifeline, Midnight Ramblers, Rising Star, The Art of Pain, The beauty of poetry, Up & Coming Writers and Writing: Persuing Happiness

in the silence
they begin to creep in
they
whisper
talk
sing
my thoughts

they fill the empty space
like a colored wind
or starlit emotion
and stain my mind
as they move quickly
walking out of me
I see them before me
painting the space around me
surrounding me like sunlight
and flooding my world like rain

they’re so many
they fill my papers and eat up my notebooks
they fly like paper white birds
and become the clouds in the distance
and morph into moonlit dreams
upon sea-washed sands
and sun-bleached stones
and afternoon dyed horizons
they reach the distant shores
and outline the earth in one second-
an electric instant
where I become the thought itself
floating up like a wish
into a corner of the sky
where they turn into mist and magic
as they make love to some bright idea
and travel across the world
into the universe
and beyond
burning holes through time
defying the human clock
and the laws of gravity
and break the chains of life and reality
and fuse into eternity…
where I become immortal….
my infinite thoughts

they are my voice
my song and music
when all the world is deaf
my thoughts are my comfort
and constant companion
in the silence

It is the mind that we never silence, it constantly is thinking, creating, dreaming, planning resting, imagining, because it is what makes us unique. The power of the brain to travel to places without movement, to see beyond bountries without sight, to create a picture beyond concept, yes, it is freedom of a spirited genius at work in private. I have been there, we just need a place to store it, to view it when we want, and to share when someone is there to listen or to see what we are experiencing. I too feel the same way, welcome to our world. You expressed it so vividly for all to see, A_S_T_O_N_I_S_H_I_N_L_Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Erika . replied

Wow, Oscar. I completely agree with what you have said. The mind is an incredible thing, and the thoughts it creates can be anything you want. I’m glad you can relate. And I’m very happy I was able to bring my world to life as well. Thank you for your insightful comment. :)

Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation
    Oscar Wilde..

I got you right beside him.. your indeed a wonder!

Erika, once again, you leave me speechless, utterless. Mute. All I am adding is that my mind can relate with your mind when it is in constant motion with words and thoughts running and running and sometimes, at least for me, my brain literally hurts when ideas and words start to pop up and all you want to do is grab a pen or pencil and a piece of paper and write before you forget those words or else they’ll just keep popping up. Sometimes I hate it, because I could be in a meeting of some kind, sometimes in church, and there it goes, the impulse to open my purse and grab a pen and start looking for atm receipts, receipts of some kind (once I used the back of a prescription for medicine and had to go back to the drs. to get another one) and so forth. This happens because I do what I recommended you to do once, I don’t know if you remember, leave pencil or pen and papers behind, no tricks, don’t buy any on the way. You answered that you always take them with you. Alas, there is no hope for us. Is there? Loved it. Oh, if you don’t hear from me for a few days, it’s that I have a BIG Virus in my p.c. and it has been blocking my way into RB. Think I’m lucky tonight and it hasn’t blocked me for now. Will try to get it fixed either tomorrow or Monday. Hope someone out there works tomorrow (Sunday).

  • Erika . replied

haha! I’m the same! It’s so frustrating when I can’t find something to write on, or to write with. But, like you said, I think sometimes there is no hope for us. :D When you have to write, you just have to write! Even though your brain has had it enough with those constant thoughts…..your mind just keeps moving and thinking, and creating. Love your comment Iris, and that you can also relate. It’s nice to find people who are the same. :)

Oh, just rememered your poem, Werewolf and that is what I’ve become with this bug in the p.c. It’s a real biggy and no matter what I’ve tried, it won’t go away. Turns out that it is the latest one that came out and it is made to look like microsoft and it fools you to hit a warning alert or to close a pop up and it’s in and it is also made to look like an antivirus, so your antivirus doesn’t recognize it as being a virus or malicious and in it goes. I will have to take it to a technition or try to call the company of my computer and see if they could do something about it.

  • Erika . replied

oh I know how that is. That happened to me a few months ago. It’s such a nuisance and a hassle. But I hope you get fixed soon. And I hope the werewolf in you has turned back into human. :D haha!
    Hope everything turns out well.
