This old spring house, located in Chambersburg PA along the Falling Spring Creek, was once used to store the metal jugs of milk to keep them cold.
The mouth of the creek is just a short distance away from this spring house so the water stays very cool which would have been great in the summer to help keep the milk and other things cold.
The spring house looked so picturesque with the fall colors and the afternoon sun throwing shadows around it. These old spring houses dot the area where I live.
