Rail car weigh station sits abandoned at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg PA. The building and scales sit along side about 6-8 rows of tracks filled with various cars waiting for thier next run. These scales would have been used to weigh tanker and coal cars much the way trucks are weighed today.
My son and I love to explore all the cars sitting on the various tracks, and of course I never go without my camera. Of all the times we’ve been here this is the first time I discovered this old building and the scales.
