I forged these images from my own experience of home and family. They lie at the intersection of memory with imagination. Rooms inside an old house are empty, but not abandoned; they are intimate interior spaces, partially concealed from view. Dark patinas of time imprint these walls with vestiges of people who once lived.
The actual house is located in Long Beach, California. It is a circa 1900 dollhouse that measures three feet high by four feet wide by three feet deep. I use a variety of lenses, perspectives, and lighting techniques to create a sense that the rooms are “real” but at the same time disturbingly “not-real”.
