Ode to Kisa (My dear miss Kitty)

Oh my dear miss Kitty,
How cute you are,
Always sitting pretty,
Even when sitting slightly afar.

You really are a treat,
To see you at your play.
Then look at me with eyes so sweet,
How you make my day.

You find pleasure in the simple things,
With milk bottle caps, and fake mice.
Your favorite being strings,
And bites of my chicken fried rice.

Oh my dear miss Kitty,
To me you’re my first child.
Though things may get a little gritty.
With the infant, you’ll be beguiled.

I promise to keep them,
From pulling your fur and tail.
You are my fur-baby gem,
And I don’t want you to wail.

I love you my dear Kitty.
Though my priorities may change.
Just don’t get all hissy,
When the diaper needs exchange.

Oh my dear miss Kitty,
I love you oh so much.
Even when you’re witty,
It’s my heart you touch.
