A tawny frogmouth taken at the Eagles Heritage Wildlife Centre, Margaret River, Western Australia. I fell in love with these birds from the moment I saw them. They have such character. Taken on holiday in March 2008.

what an absolutely fabulous photo, must be a baby. I have only seen browny colours although there are several different varieties. this is good enough to reach out and pat.

There was actually a group of three of them and this one was siting on the end. We thought it was a mother, father and a baby altogether. Thanks for the comment.
