I have been taking photos since I was about 12, starting with a handed down Agfa box camera, then upgraded/downgraded to a second hand Kodak 110 format pocket camera. A few years later I started my fisrt paid job – a morning paper round and soon saved for a Hanimex 35mm auto-focus camera which served me well for a few years.
To this stage my interest was for fun, and stayed that way until 1989. I finally purchased my first SLR, a Ricoh XR10 with one lens and a flash. Over the next few years my interest grew quicker than my skill and I was often rather dissappointed with my images. As a result my interest waned and remained stagnant.
Over the years I my kit had grown slightly but still remained fairly simple until my interest returned in about 2000 when I started scanning old photos (I still have all my photos even the really bad ones). A few years later and it was time to step up to a decent camera and the real learning curve began.
I joined Knox Photographic Society and started to look, listen and learn from many like minded but more experienced and passionate photographers. For those who have thought but hesitated about joining a camera club, it is well worth it and I wish I had done so years earlier.
I now use a Canon EOS 30, scanning all my images for filing/storage (have been through a couple of dodgey scanners) and as of only very recently have added a Canon EOS 350D to my collection. I don’t have a large selection of lenses though I do have enough to keep me happy for now.
I love taking photos, whether the images are of my own family, my backyard or some far away place there is always an interesting photo to be seen and captured. I enjoy landscape, sport, architechture – both modern and historic, wildlife and social documentary photography.
All this doesn’t mean that I am very good at any of these, my objective is to enjoy and to share what I see with others. I aim to please and to improve. Please keep coming back to see if I do improve as it is not always easy to be subjective about your own images. Let me know if I do or I don’t !
The photos on this site have been selected at random. I am happy to receive any feedback you may wish to offer.

I felt 3000 days of emotions tingle every inch of my soul
An amazing scene evolved, a spectacular show / Re-runs there would be none / Yet only one chose to make it part of their story / Unobserved, almost / A gift given, to see a unique world / So perhaps…
.....take a look from the other side of the fence
I turned up the music. I listened to my thoughts. I discovered I wasn’t who I
