I’m not sure if this is the Aurora Australis, or if it’s the result of light pollution, but we had a very strong solar storm today, and there was a Aurora alert issued, so I decided to head out somewhere dark to see if I could capture anything.

When I arrived at some farmland on the outskirts of Perth, Western Australia , I noticed the sky was looking red with a green tinge on the horizon, then it would disappear after a few minutes, returning to clear dark skies, then the colours would re-appear again after a few minutes. I started doing some long exposures and this was the result!

Even if it isn’t a Aurora, it turned out to be a nice looking night sky!

I’m sure it was the Aurora. Great feeling of vast and mysterious space in this.
