I spent a hot summers night shooting down at Lake Clifton (About 100km South of Perth) and part of the Yalgorup National Park. There wasn’t any moon light on this visit, unlike My Last Visit to the lake, I had been planning on shooting some star trails, so the conditions turned out to be ideal to shoot star trails, unfortunately the tide was coming in, so the Thrombolites were submerged again on this visit. You can read about this shoot in My Blog
This was a 1 hour 17 minute exposure shot with EOS 7D And 15-85 IS Lens. I used a spotlight to illuminate the foreground and to bring out the details of the Thrombolites.
